John Hight here to bring you an update as my team and I prepare to unleash a whole lot of evil on consoles everywhere. The Ultimate Evil Edition is filled with all the features, fast-paced action, and legendary loot included in the Reaper of Souls expansion set, as well as all of the content of the original Diablo III. With a new chapter to play through and the new Crusader class to master, plus the freedom to explore endlessly with Adventure Mode, your path to new heights of power will be literally in your DualShock-wielding hands.
Doing so will land you a devilishly sweet pair of Infernal Pauldrons, which provide some powerful bonuses for your characters, and they look pretty cool too—a plus considering you can also use them for transmogs a new feature available in UEE.
One more cool piece of news for PS4 players: the next-gen console architecture makes it much easier for us to offer ongoing patch support for the PS4 version of the Ultimate Evil Edition.
Did you like this? Like this. As of right now, I plan on getting this at a later time, but this would be my first Diablo game. I want to focus on Plants vs. I have never played Diablo, but is it basically a hack n slash game? The PS4 really needs a good one right now, and I think I would be in to try this if that was the case. Ooh, you are in for a treat. Diablo is the grandaddy of hack-and-slash action-RPGs, and D3 works great on a controller. We plan to support the PS4 with future updates.
Oops — meant to post this on lower thread. UEE on PS4 is great hack and slash. Try multiplayer too — its a lot of fun. Main char still being controlled by DS4. Vita shows same screen.
Basically couch co-op but each player has own controller and own screen. This scenario doesn't comprise all the reports we've received, however, only the majority of them.
Although we do not have a resolution to offer at this time, we are continuing to investigate and will be sure to update this thread as soon as more information becomes available. Thanks to everyone who is affected for your continued patience! What happened to my Infernal Pauldrons? We've received a few reports from PS4 players noting that they have been unable to claim their Infernal Pauldrons. This issue appears to be related to a license not properly being applied to some players' SEN accounts after entering the item code.
Luckily, we have identified a workaround that should help most of you get past this issue: 1. Select "PSN" 3. Select "Restore Licenses" 4. Re-launch Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition and you should find your preorder item in your inventory Additionally, please ensure that your console is connected to the internet, as downloading the available patch over PSN is required to collect the item.
Once you're in game, visit your newest town hub and open your Shared Stash. Under the "Ring" category, you should see your Signet Ring of the Blizzard. If you do not see the ring, try relogging into the game after waiting a few minutes.

It's a beautiful p title on both Xbox One and PS4, with only brighter areas such as the Caldeum Bazaar showing a rare case of aliasing on foliage. Curiously, the palm tree leaves next to the doorway have no anti-aliasing on console, whereas they do on PC. Aside from this, the console versions match PC very, very closely indeed. Not only is the field of view FOV re-arranged on console, but the backdrop layer is altered too - as shown by the shifted city view at the top. Textures on PS4 and Xbox One are identical.
While we don't have a perfect pixel-for-pixel match on PC, asset quality is hard to distinguish from its high setting. Interior layouts share the same polygonal detail across all three platforms. Shadows also use the smoothed look of PC, with no aliasing to speak of. The battle with the Skeleton king has urn placement randomised in the background. Curiously, cobwebs appear sharper in this shot on PS4 - but nowhere else.
Diablo 3's cut-scenes show alpha and particle effects letting loose on both platforms - and again it's a high on indistinguishable. Another bizarre change is colour tone variation in some levels.
Here, the PS4 is the odd one out with a cooler tone for the Highlands area. Will you support the Digital Foundry team? Support Digital Foundry Find out more about the benefits of our Patreon.
